George Booth Drive Roundabout and Acceleration Lane

Scope of work

• Roundabout and acceleration lane to facilitate the opening of a new mine portal at the intersection of two high traffic roads
• 1km of climbing lane construction
• Conversion of a tee intersection into a roundabout 
• Over 4000 tonnes of asphalt placed
• Intensive traffic control including night works for roundabout asphalt
• All works to RTA requirements

Project highlights

• The use of profilers to excavate existing road shoulders and trenchers to excavate subsoil drainage, accelerated the overall works, minimising disruptions to traffic
